Hi all,

I'm Zil's Grandson.  It's great to see so much enthusiasm for the books and the game!  When can we get this game re-created for PS3?

I've been dreaming about the world of greensky since I was a little girl back in the 80's stealing every chance I could get to run to my school's computer lab and play "Below the Root" by Windham classics on the apple computer! I've been thinking that it would make a fabulous movie series for years. Its sad that Zilpha left the last book hanging and although the game gives a satisfactory ending, and is considered canon, I think the fact that the ending is not in book form makes this fabulous world less appealing to publishers (last time I checked it was out of print!) and producers. I think if the game could be remade for kids today it could bring the needed attention back to the books and bring the world of greensky alive to kids as well as to producers. It is a classic series as far as I am concerned, I only wish other people knew how great it was!

All of Zilpha's books have been digitized. I wish there were actual print editions too, though. The most recent ones were reprinted in 2005.

This series came out when I was in college and I was immersed in it for years. A friend got me a copy of the game and I could sit there and play it all night with the lights turned off. My mom was into it, even, she loved the sounds and music. It was a very advanced game for its time. As it is now considered "out of print", there are copies all over the net which can be played with emulators, if you're interested. There is a "World of Green-sky" fan page, too.
